Writing your CV

What to include
Personal Data – name, address, date of birth, right to work status, contact numbers
Education – dates, schools and/or universities/ colleges and exams and grades
Training Courses – names and description if not obvious!
Additional Skills – anything that is not covered by the training
Employment History – dates, employer name, job title and a brief description of the role and any associated skills.
Interests/ hobbies – include any voluntary work
Personal Profile – this is optional but us a good tool to sell your strengths to a prospective employer.

Presentation of your CV
Make it easy to read as it will be one of many the employer sees.
Be consistent how the information is presented and how you use bold type
Two sides of A4 is usually enough space!
Proof read your CV carefully and enlist the help of others, sometimes they see what you have missed.
Print on good quality paper and do not fold into an envelope, use an A4 with a cardboard re-enforcement.
If you email the CV follow it up with a posted hard copy.
