- Our client is an award-winning law firm seeking to recruit an Assistant Manager, Client Accounting, Governance Services, Jersey.
Overall purpose of the role:
To work in a friendly and professional team providing bespoke accounting and reporting services to a varied and exciting portfolio of clients. Work closely with members of the global Client Accounting team on the provision of accounting services to a range of client entities of Governance Services (Jersey, Guernsey, UK and Cayman).
Key responsibilities will include;
•Prepare and review accurate and timely financial statements under UK GAAP, IFRS and US GAAP, as required
•Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and semi-annual reports and net asset valuations
•Ensure accurate and up-to-date accounting records are maintained in client entity databases (Viewpoint and Yardi)
•Undertake complex accounting work with minimal supervision
•Ensure client expectations and accounting deadlines are properly managed, multi-tasking a portfolio of work
•Build trusted relationships with clients, auditors and third-party service providers
•Collaborate with client administration and other colleagues globally, providing explanations, advice and accounting support as and when required
•Ensure consistency of accounting service levels across all clients and deal swiftly with any identified issues
•Act as a role model to junior colleagues to assist in building, developing and motivating a highly proficient accounting team who act in accordance with the firm's values and in parallel to the excellent firm wide service levels
•Be familiar with and act at all times in accordance with the firm's policies and procedures
The successful candidate will be:
•Part qualified ACCA/ACA, currently studying or qualified by relevant experience with good up-to-date technical accounting knowledge
•Previous experience of accounting systems, particularly Viewpoint would be an advantage
•Good working knowledge of Excel
•Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
